Hiscover fresh, home-grown potatoes. Combine them with these delicious regional and seasonal products and use the ingredients for this simple dish. The combination is fantastic! Afraid of an old-fashioned image? Of course not, Holland is hip!

Serves 4 Main dish. Preparation time approx. 15 minutes.

  • 2 to 3 large, firm potatoes
  • 2 apples (Elstar)
  • 200 grams of Frisian clove cheese
  • butter for greasing
  • 125 grams of sliced, cooked bacon
  • 75 grams of walnuts
  • a few sprigs of chives
  • salt, pepper
  • extra: apple corer, 2 Ø 15 cm spring-release baking tins, baking paper

Preheat oven to 190º C.
Wash the potatoes and cut them into 3 mm slices. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Remove the core from the apples with the apple corer. Slice the apples into 3 mm slices. Grate the cheese.
Grease the baking tins. Line with baking paper and also grease the baking paper.
In each tin, place a layer of potatoes, a layer of grated clove cheese, slices of apple, and cover with a layer of bacon. Repeat. Finish with a layer of potato and grated cheese.
Bake the tarts in the pre-heated oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Sprinkle with the walnuts for the last 10 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly. Remove from tins, unfold the baking powder, sprinkle with chives and serve with a fresh salad.

Tip: You can also make individual tarts in smaller baking tins. Or make one big tart in a bigger baking tin. Adjust the preparation time and lower the oven temperature a bit.
