Waldersey Farms is steadily increasing its potato acreage, also after Brexit

February 2019
&

With a cultivation area of 5,500 hectares, Waldersey Farms Ltd from the rural area of The Fens in Norfolk is one of the largest arable farms in the United Kingdom. Potato cultivation is an important source of income, even if the area under cultivation is ‘only’ 336 hectares. Certainly after a Brexit, because from then on there is still much uncertainty, such as the compensation by the British government of the subsidy obtained up to now from the EU. The future scenario is therefore: an increase in area through further land acquisition. The price is attractive now, mainly thanks to the approaching Brexit.
