On January 12, 1952, the “European Union for the Wholesale Trade in Potatoes” was established in Paris. Over seventy years later the secretariat of the European Potato Trade Association, now shortly called Europatat, has recently moved into a new office near the heart of European politics in Brussels. ‘One of the main changes for European potato trade has been EU legislation’, explains Secretary General Berta Redondo as she is settling down in the brand new office. In order to proactively deal with future challenges the EU legislation may pose, the association developed and approved a new strategy just last year.
