The American Kinsey-Albrecht soil health programme has focused on a comprehensive soil analysis ever since 1973. This with the aim of improving soil fertility and resilience of plants such as the potato. The two developers of the analysis started out from the idea that an active soil biology ensures the capture of nutrients, which then gradually become available for plant roots. For several years now, the Kinsey-Albrecht soil analysis has also been used in the Netherlands. ‘Participation mainly requires a fundamentally new way of thinking and working, hinted Marco van Gurp of N-xt Soil Services.
