From 26-30 October, the Kenyan city of Naivasha will become the focal point of the global potato industry. For the first time in its history, the World Potato Congress (WPC) will be held in East Africa. With the theme ‘Global Potato Partnership for Enhanced Food Systems, Nutrition Security and Trade’, more than a thousand potato professionals from over sixty countries are expected to gather to discuss the future of the potato. The congress will bring together growers, breeders, researchers, processors, policymakers and technology companies with a shared ambition: to build more sustainable and resilient food systems.
