Deep cleaning of the storehouse reduces the risk of residue excess

With the ban on the active substance chlorpropham in 2020, many potato growers who used to keep their storage products free from sprouting with this agent are not rid of it yet. The problem is that, without intervention, it can remain in the storehouse and the materials for years to come. According to Jan-Eric Geersing of the GREANR company, deep cleaning with a special formula based on essential oil is one way of doing something about it. This avoids the risk of cross-contamination in stored potatoes and therefore also avoids the residue exceeding future MRL values. ‘Taking action now will ensure clean potatoes later’, he states plainly.
