World frozen fry trade under pressure

A drop in exports by the world’s largest frozen fry exporters resulted in a 5.8% drop in trade in May compared to May 2024 at 771 728 tonnes, according to the latest World Potato Markets Frozen Fry Index. That was almost 19 000 tonnes less than in April 2025. However, May sales were still 10.0% more than in May 2019 before the pandemic and inflationary pressure from 2022 onwards.
