The Dutch potato sector will have a recognisable joint meeting point at PotatoEurope 2026. On 9 and 10 September, the Dutch Potato Organisation (NAO) will organise the NAO-Netherlands Pavilion in Germany. Nine Dutch companies will present themselves jointly to the international potato sector.
PotatoEurope will take place this year at Rittergut Gestorf, near Hanover, in the heart of one of Germany’s most important potato-growing regions. The organisers expect around 300 exhibitors and 12,000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad. For the Dutch potato sector, the exhibition therefore provides an important international platform to meet existing business partners, establish new contacts and showcase knowledge and innovations.
Nine Dutch participants and the NAO will present themselves jointly in the NAO-Netherlands Pavilion. The participants are Cremer Speciaalmachines, HLB, Naus Agriboxes, Perfect Plants, PIM Machinery, Plantera, PotatoWorld magazine, Q-Potato Holland and Schaap Holland. Together, they represent the broad scope of the Dutch potato value chain. The participants are active in areas including seed potatoes and varieties, minitubers and planting material, research and diagnostics, storage, counting and packaging technology, automation, trade and specialist information.
According to NAO policy specialist Jan Gottschall, this joint presentation is particularly important. “The pavilion gives the Dutch potato sector a strong and recognisable position at an international trade exhibition. At the same time, above all, we want to create a place where companies, business partners and international visitors can easily meet and engage in conversation.”
The NAO-Netherlands Lounge therefore forms the central meeting point within the pavilion. It provides a space for participants, NAO members and international business partners to meet and discuss developments within the potato value chain. International delegations can also be welcomed here. At the end of the first exhibition day, an international networking event will also take place in the lounge. Representatives of the Dutch Embassy in Berlin will be involved in the event. The aim is to bring Dutch and international companies, organisations and other stakeholders in the potato value chain closer together. They are therefore warmly invited to attend the networking event from 17:30 onwards.
The joint Dutch presentation is organised by the NAO in cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).
Ahead of PotatoEurope, the English-language e-book Partners in trade and innovation will also be published. The e-book can be downloaded via this link. In addition to presenting the participants in the pavilion, the publication highlights cooperation between the Netherlands and Germany, innovations in potato production and the international position of the Dutch potato sector. The Dutch Ambassador to Germany, Hester Somsen, emphasises the importance of the relationship between the two countries in the publication. Germany is one of the most important markets for the Dutch potato sector, while cooperation in areas such as variety development, crop protection, integrated crop management and precision farming is becoming increasingly important.
Visitors to PotatoEurope 2026 can find the NAO-Netherlands Pavilion and the Netherlands Lounge at stand ZA21.
