Interpom 2022 commits to highlighting innovations and sharing knowledge

November 25, 2022

The organisation of potato trade fair Interpom, taking place from November 27-29 in Kortrijk (Belgium), together with an independent group of experts selected a number of what they call ‘must-see innovations’ developed by exhibitors.

Innovation key to sustainable growth

The selected products and services will be part of the event’s Innovation Tour 2022. ‘Those innovations do not only provide added value for users, but also benefit the entire potato chain. Innovation is key to achieve healthy, sustainable growth and to be able to tackle current challenges’, Interpom announces. When talking about current challenges, the Interpom-organisation is referring to climate change, water scarcity, fertilizer shortages, labour shortage and rising costs of raw materials and energy. The members of the group of experts responsible for assessing the latest innovations presented by Interpom exhibitors are Pierre Lebrun (Fiwap & a BELPOTATO), Kurt Demeulemeester (Inagro), Tim Decoster (Landbouwleven / Sillon Belge), Patrick Dieleman (Boer & Tuinder), Antoon Vanderstraeten (Hectares.be), Antoon Wallays (Belgapom & Agristo NV), Philippe Debruyne (Belgapom & Aviko), and Aardappelwereld / PotatoWorld magazine Director / Editor in chief Jaap Delleman.

Varied seminar programme

In line with the theme of Interpom 2022, ‘Towards a healthy growth’, the organisation also presents a wide-ranging seminar programme, focusing on knowledge sharing. ‘Both hot topics as well as innovative projects are covered in the programme, compiled by Belgapom. It highlights topics such as manure management, water use and drought issues, inflation and rising prices of raw materials, agroecology, potato disease management and the latest developments in automation and precision agriculture.’ The organization emphasizes the aim of this varied programme is to show that it can provide the necessary new impulses towards a strong, dynamic and sustainable Belgian & European potato chain. To give all visitors and other interested parties access to the information shared during the seminars, they will be streamed and available online after the fair ends. The full seminar programme can be found here.
