The Potato Company’s Potato Show goes (partly) online

November 01, 2020

In the context of the annual Potato Variety Presentation Days, this year taking place on November 4, 5 and 6, The Potato Company bv (TPC) will organize its Potato Show both in person and online. The addition of online segments has been made because of the situation and measures regarding COVID-19.

Traditionally, in the beginning of November trading and breeding companies present their (new) varieties to their existing and potential clients. Because of COVID-19, the plans for this annual happening have changed and TPC has decided to add online segments to its “Potato Show”.

TPC Academy

On Wednesday November 4th, the “TPC Academy Online” will be held. In two online sessions, clients will be able to witness the introduction of new varieties and receive information on the ins and outs of working together with TPC. Employees of client companies will be informed about the do’s and don’ts of the most important varieties, for example regarding potato cultivation and storage. With its Academy Online, TPC wants to give participants a chance to attend online sessions and be part of live discussions.

Online meeting room

Next to the online academy, during the Potato Variety Presentation Days a “TPC Meeting Room Online” will be set up in order to allow relations of The Potato Company who are unable to travel in current times, to discuss possibilities for cooperation online. Via meeting@tpc.nl interested parties can make an appointment to do so. Together with the online academy, this digital meeting room allows TPC to put a virtual spotlight on their varieties and their company in general.

In person Potato Show

Next to the online events, TPC plans to meet clients in person on November 4, 5, and 6 from 10AM to 5PM. At their location in Emmeloord they will present all TPC varieties as well as promising new varieties during their Potato Show. These meetings will take place in compliance with the measures of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment regarding COVID-19.
