Extra European potatoes will not cover

Ware production (maincrop and early consumption potatoes) in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands is expected to be 1.3 million tonnes more than in 2022 at about 23 million tonnes, according to the NEPG group of organisations from the four countries. Despite that figure being similar to 2021, greater needs by processors and more disease problems could leave a shortfall of potatoes.
