Potato Trade Association Europatat celebrates 70th anniversary

February 02, 2022

In 2022, European Potato Trade Association Europatat is celebrating its 70th Anniversary.

On January 12, 1952, the “European Union for the Wholesale Trade in Potatoes” was established in Paris, as one of the first European organisations in the agriculture wholesale trade.

63 members in the EU and beyond

At the time, it included members from Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Initially set up by national organisations to protect the interests of the wholesale potato merchants, its membership is now open to individual companies active in the potato trade. Nowadays the association counts 63 members in 20 countries in the EU and beyond.

Reconnecting with the potato community during Europatat Congress

To mark this important milestone, Europatat invites all its members and stakeholders to Dublin for the Europatat Congress 2022. ‘Don’t miss the opportunity of reconnecting with colleagues and friends from the European potato community’, the association states. The congress of the European Potato Trade Association is being organised on Sunday 29 and Monday 30 May 2022. Within the framework of this year’s edition of the World Potato Congress in Dublin (May 30 – June 2), the Europatat Congress will take place at the Royal Dublin Society, located in the heart of the city.
