Good prices are giving the potato growers in Southern Spain a boost this year. And they can use it. Prices were not good in the past few years and cultivation costs are at least 8,000 euros per hectare. The tasty potatoes from the red, volcanic soil are becoming increasingly popular in North-European countries, among which the Netherlands, Belgium, and even more so in Great Britain this year. But the local market also knows very well how to sell the yield.
