Breeding pioneer Niek Vos pushes the boundaries

Crop grower and potato breeder Niek Vos in the village of Kraggenburg is the example and the face of the organic potato sector. His pioneering work, the search for Phytophthora-resistant varieties led to his first success with the Bionica variety years’ ago. After the steady growth of this variety to a crop of nearly 30 hectares in the Netherlands, it’s not only high time but also necessary to cross the border. Son Michiel and daughter Liselore, his successors, will continue Dad’s mission to search for marketing partners.
