This year’s international trade fair Fruit Logistica will take place from April 5 to 7 in the Messe in Berlin.
The organization expects some 2,000 exhibitors from 80 countries to showcase their products, services and technical solutions at this meeting place for traders, suppliers and retail representatives.
Normally, the German capital turns into the hotspot of the global fresh produce world thanks to Fruit Logistica at the beginning of February. The upcoming edition has been moved to April. The organization chose this new date to be able to organize a live-event on location, in line with the event-theme: “Meet onsite again”. With this new date, the organizers strive for a well-visited event for international guests and exhibitors, which has proven to be the right decision according to director Kai Mangelberger. ‘We have received positive feedback from our exhibitors, who clearly confirmed our new dates in April. We sense that the industry has a strong desire and need to meet in person. With all this support and commitment, Fruit Logistica will pay off for everyone,’ he said.
The Dutch and Flemish potato industry will be well represented at the trade fair. Dutch machine manufacturer Sormac for example will present three completely renewed machines at the Messe, among which an updated version of their potato halving and quartering machine DMA. Packaging and palletizing system manufacturer Symach indicates that, during the fair, it will happily discuss solutions for, among other things, palletizing and packaging potatoes. Other well-known players such as Jansen-Dongen B.V., Landjuweel, Mechatec B.V., PIM-Machinery and Schaap Holland B.V. – PolderGoud are also on the list of participating companies. At the booth of the Flemish Center for Agro and Fisheries Marketing (VLAM), five companies represent the Belgian potato industry: De Aardappelhoeve, Pomuni, RTL Patat, Vitafrites and Remo frites.
