Potato Expo 2021, scheduled to take place January 5-7 next year, will be held exclusively online. The organizer, the National Potato Council (NPC), recently announced this new virtual format in light of on-going developments with COVID-19.
‘After thoughtful discussions with the Executive Committee and supporting companies, and through feedback via attendee surveys, we have decided to hold the Potato Expo 2021 as a virtual experience’, the organization declared. NPC believes this to be the safest approach for the well-being of attendees, along with their families, farms, and colleagues.
Virtual community gathering
The design of the Potato Expo 2021 has been fully reimagined, but in the new, exclusively virtual format the organization continues to aim for being a place where the potato community can come together. Or, as the slogan of the 2021 edition reads: Come together, right now. Over potatoes! As networking is a cornerstone of the annual Potato Expo, attendees will be able to partake in interactive and engaging experiences through a dynamic virtual conference platform.
‘We are excited about the opportunities a virtual event offers in providing insights into new technology and innovation in the potato industry and facilitate the engagement and connections the Potato Expo is known for. Attendees will hear from leaders, connect with peers, and explore business solutions to address unique challenges, and prepare their organization for a new level of success,’ the NPC statement said. An interactive exhibit hall will allow exhibitors to showcase their products and services and connect with attendees, from the comfort and safety of their home or office. To ensure that content is delivered in more digestible segments, the conference agenda will be spread out over three tight days and sessions will be easily accessible on-demand for conference attendees to view at their own convenience through the end of March.
