Potato Expo announces celebrity chef cook-off

October 07, 2022

Attendees of Potato Expo can witness a celebrity cook-off during the second day of the 2023 edition of the event.

Potato Expo 2023, hosted by the National Potato Council (NPC), takes place on January 4-5 at the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Aurora, Colorado.

This Spuds for You – Celebrity Chef Edition

Cooking competitions have been organized during the largest potato industry gathering in North America for a few years now. As Food Network personality and chef Simon Majumdar hosted an Iron Potato Chef Cook-off during the 2022 edition of the event, comments on Twitter aroused interest among other celebrity chefs as well as Emmy Award-winning host Ted Allen (Chopped & Chopped Junior). As a result, the organization of the event can now announce next year’s “This Spuds for You – Celebrity Chef Edition”, hosted by Allen and featuring two chef teams. Together with RJ Harvey, Culinary Director at Potatoes USA, Majumdar will compete against pastry chef Duff Goldman and chef Jason Morse.

Bringing the potato value chain together

At the upcoming edition, Potato Expo will celebrate its 15th anniversary and bring together growers, suppliers, industry experts, and value chain partners from around the world for two days of learning, business development, and networking. In addition to the 100,000-square foot trade show, the Expo Hall will host a stage for “Potato Talks,” a center of activity featuring engaging discussions and entertainment all focused on the latest innovations in potatoes and potato production. The 2023 event will include numerous networking opportunities, of which a full schedule can be found here.
